Coincidence Or Not – Brexit Event Before Exit?

August 5, 2019 | Silver Shemmings

I read somewhere that networking events are a waste of time and not a good return on people’s investment of time and money, I do not entirely agree with this statement. Having said that, most of the time I find it difficult to engage with people who are standing in groups and chatting with each other. It makes me feel strange to interject their conversation, especially if they already know each other

People have different ways of networking and making new connections and I am overcoming my issue of such interactions by creating a networking event which not only focuses on creating connections, it also focuses on current commercial issues relevant to construction and property. When something is out of my comfort zone, I try to approach it in a different way, by going to battle with it, by creating a networking event such as CCP

Challenges in Construction and Property (or CCP) was an idea generated by the young professionals at Silver Shemmings Ash. We wanted to create something unique and separate from any other networking event. CCP is not just an event to make connections and meet new people, it is an event aimed at young professionals with topics for discussion, issues that they are facing in the current climate and ideas on ways to approach them. We have created a platform for our peers to share their knowledge and concerns they face every day and perhaps to find solutions, the idea is to give and to ensure that everyone leaves the event with a handful of new ideas

Following the success of the first CCP event, we are going to hold the second CCP on 10 October 2019. There will be group discussion on the topic of Brexit and its impact on young professionals’ careers in construction and property. We are all well aware that no one has a certain answer to any questions related to Brexit; however we, the younger generation, find comfort in the answers provided by those who are experts in the industry and somewhat expert in Brexit. We find comfort knowing that we are not alone in this uncertain economical and political ambience.

This event is free and open for everyone to attend, we would like to see new faces and hear from people of all background and ages on how they find the impact of Brexit on their businesses and how they manage it

So please support us by joining us on the day and get involved in the discussion, lets see how we are all coping with the changes already happening and changes ahead
