NEC4 Explained & FIDIC 2017 Revisions – Seminar Dates Confirmed

Chidi EgbochueConstruction Partner Chidi Egbochue will be presenting two new Evening Seminars in May and June on the NEC4 & FIDIC 2017 Contract Suites. Chidi has over 10 years’ experience of providing primarily non-contentious advice on major construction projects across several sectors, including infrastructure, oil and gas and energy. He acted for High Speed Two (HS2) Limited on the new high speed rail network project and for TFL on the Northern Line Extension project. He also has extensive experience and knowledge of construction procurement and construction contracts, including NEC contracts as well as traditional forms such as JCT, FIDIC and LOGIC

On Thursday 16th May Chidi will discuss what has changed from the NEC3, including the changes to the early warning, assignment, disclosure, acceleration, programme, defined cost, fee percentage, payment, indemnities and insurance provisions, the schedule of cost components and the secondary options and the new design, build, operate & alliance forms

On Thursday 6th June he explains the revised FIDIC Red, Yellow & Silver Books. He will compare the new suite of FIDIC contracts with their 1999 counterparts including the increased emphasis on avoiding disputes, the enhanced role for the engineer, the additional project management tools, the variations provisions, the payment terms and the reciprocal rights
