Summary

Lawrence advises on construction and commercial contracts .He has over 30 years’ experience of practicing law in the construction industry and acts for property developers, contractors, funders, consortiums, joint venture partners, and construction professionals on developments and projects for both the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas.

He has many years of experience in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, project agreements and the ancillary documentation, such as, parent company guarantees, bonds, opinion letters, and joint venture agreements, required to successfully complete infrastructure and property development projects. He has extensive experience of all the major forms of building and engineering standard form contracts, including, JCT, FIDIC, NEC, ICE, GC/Works, and MF/1. An essential part of the advice which he provides is how best project risk can be managed throughout a project’s duration. Lawrence’s experience includes advising on infrastructure developments, civil engineering projects and projects in the energy and powers sectors including ECP, BOT and BOOT projects.

Lawrence is experienced in advising on the construction and project management aspects of PFI/PPP projects and issues which arise during their duration, in a number of sectors, including health, leisure, education, defence and local authorities.

He acts for contractors, developers, sub-contractors, construction professionals and insurers on a variety of construction and engineering disputes whether by way of mediation, adjudication, arbitration or expert determination.

Lawrence is a regular public speaker on construction law in the UK and overseas and regularly contributes articles.
